foActive has designed a universal web service framework that can dynamically deliver barcodes to applications such as RenderX XEP. The web service takes several input parameters and converts this input into an SVG representing the barcode. The conversion is accomplished using XSL transformations based on modified versions of the RenderX barcode stylesheets. The following links demonstrate the capabilities of the web service. For the preview pages to function appropriately, you should be using Internet Explorer 6 and have the Adobe SVG Plug-in installed. If you have an SVG-enabled browser like FireFox, you can see the results but they are possibly not representative of the actual barcode as some browsers have limitations in supporting the path statement used in the SVG. Please note that RenderX does support these SVGs perfectly and your in-document representation of the barcode will be perfect. Just select one of the links below to test out this functionality and check out the results. In the future, foActive will expose this functionality to our customers, providing the ability to dynamically include barcodes generated from this web service directly into their formatting applications. Currently, we have published the following barcode types: Universal Product Code (UPC) |
